Back in 2012, La Maxima 79 band leader Fabrizio Zoro took the decision to further expand his presence in the world of music, co-founding music publishing label Smayra Publishing alongside Laura Fossati.
Pooling the skills they’ve acquired from their diverse professional backgrounds, Fabrizio and Laura form a real dynamic duo on the Italian music production scene.
Fabrizio is a world-renowned Latin musician and DJ, heading up the La Maxima 79 salsa band. His deep-seated love for all kinds of music genres – from house, to salsa, to electronic dance music – keeps him well versed in all the latest industry trends, as well as giving him the edge he needs to discover rising talent.
Laura’s role covers the legal aspect of releasing new music, advising all artists that collaborate with Smayra Publishing on topics related to protection of artistic property, copyrighting and administrative matters.
As emerging artists begin to make a name for themselves, it’s vital that they have the opportunity to establish and maintain their own unique sound. Smayra Publishing prioritises allowing its artists to maintain the self-expression that they might otherwise lose to larger production labels.
To this end, the label has entered into a collaborative partnership with I Art Studios. This enables Smayra Publishing’s artists to closely collaborate throughout the pre-production, recording and development processes, putting their personal stamp on all their new tracks.
The label continually pushes for diversity, innovation and effective networking, in order to provide its artists with high quality artistic, managerial, marketing and technical strategies. Smayra Publishing prioritises raising the profiles of emerging electronic dance music, Latin, rhythm and blues and house artists, as well as allowing them to produce professional quality music at competitive rates.
In just a few years of operation, Smayra Publishing has enjoyed significant international success and continues to take on artists with exciting future potential. Notably, it’s worked closely with Latin artist Johnny Vazquez, alongside collaborations with EDM artist DJ Loco, R&B Aly-Z and house artist Scaer.
